The Weekend the Taylors Decamped …

Saturday

Mrs W cracks the whip

It was a pleasant sunny day on Saturday, so naturally I had to attend an all-day photographic committee meeting. I was wearing my Mr Naughty socks, but Madame President had come prepared for trouble, having brought a bull-whip with her to keep the meeting in order.

At the end of the day I trekked over to the Crofters. Where Cath and Andy normally stand there was an empty space. Bob and Hilary didn't make an appearance either, and I'm sure I heard Madge complaining about the takings being down. She'd better get used to it, Cath and Andy don't return from the Antipodes until April-ish. Madge sees the takings are down ...

According to a source on the internet, when a jet plane from England arrives at an Australian airport, you can still hear whining when the engines are shut down …

Sunday

For the last several weeks I've been suffering from a cough; the doc thinks it's a chest infection triggering my asthma. As a result I've been sleeping badly, and waking up with coughing fits in the small hours of the night. This last week has been the worst, and I've been looking forward to weekend every day so I can have a lie-in. The meeting on Saturday ruled this out until Sunday. I actually managed seven hours of unbroken sleep before waking at 8, having a moderate coughing fit, then getting up Up the road and making a coffee. So – a partial result.

The weather today was fairly abysmal, with rain and fog. I thought it might be an opportunity to get some interesting misty shots, but the rain prevented this. So – I just stuck my head out the front door and took a shot of the view up and down the road. Nice – innit? ;)

In a few minutes I'll be wandering off to the pub to do my care in the community bit. Maybe I'll get some sort of explanation for the bizarre incident on Friday night.

Tomorrow I have a visit to the dentist to look forward to. He's going to remove a wisdom tooth, hopefully it won't impact on my limited intellect too much … Down the road
